I felt like making something today and I ended up with a new hat band. What do you think?

Ode to my Clever Mike
Not having a car I have learned to rely a great deal on my bike. The other day I rode my bike to Shabudabu’s apartment for a visit. She happens to live one block away from the worst corner in Brantford (which by comparison with other cities, isn’t that bad). I used to live in that area anyway, and I would always leave my bike chained up on the street. This time was no exception.
I had my bike chained up on Dalhousie street for a few days. Those were colourful days yet my bike survived the burning church, the building evacuations, and the constant procession of drunks from Rumbles. On the day Shabudabu moved back into her apartment, I found that someone had (just for a laugh) kicked the crap out of my bike. The back tire was bent almost in half and it was totally unridable. Luckily I was borrowing my Dad’s van that night and I came by to pick up the bike and drive it home, where I could attempt repairs, only to find that someone had cut my bike lock and taken my broken bike. I don’t know where it is, and City Hall was closed when I went by to check city records.
I am now a broken and bike-less man.

illFri - Cats
I was browsing around and found this site. It seemed kind of cool, so I think I’m going to do it for a while. I might eventually (if I stick with it long enough to justify it) separate my illFri posts and but them on their own separate blog. In the meantime, check it out . . .

The roof, the roof, the roof was on fire . . .
Last night as I was about to call Shabudabu to invite her out with some pals for a drink at the pub, she called me. The call didn’t last very longs, just long enough to tell me that her apartment building was on fire. Thus ended the pub night, and began the biggest bonfire (80 foot flames at it’s peek) this city has seen since last year! Thankfully Shabu is okay, and everyone from the adjacent buildings were evacuated, however due to smoke and water damage I don’t know how long it’s going to be before they’re allowed to get their stuff or move back in.

Wonderful variety
I heard this broadcast yesterday on CBC radio one. Normally the Sunday programming offers no guarantee that I will be interested. Yesterday was an exception. On ‘Tapestry’ they were interviewing a man who had been exploring the lands written about in the bible. I wasn’t able to listen to the entire broadcast (it is 41 min.) because my mom came by to take me out for lunch, but I did hear the interviewee’s interpretation of the story of the Tower of Babel. Really interesting stuff, you should listen . . .

I only took intro to philosophy
Premise 1 - The message of peace is an important one.
Premise 2 - George W. Bush (like it or not) is one of the most powerful people in the world.
Conclusion. - When George Bush sings words of peace, the world (at least Australia) listens.
Supporting Evidence
- Imagine & Take a walk on the wild side
- Imagine & Give peace a chance
Despite the fact that it has never been commercially released, this song was recently one of the top five most requested on Australian radio. I don’t know how popular it is over here, but I think you’ll enjoy it just as much as the Aussies have.

Shirley, Shirley bo Birley
Does your name play a role in defining who you are? Last names can mark a person’s class or familial history in a way which defines them before actually getting to know their individual personality. If one of your ancestors was a great philanthropist or activist, you’ll probably be painted with the same brush when people first meet you. Other families suffer an unsavory stigma based on the misconducts of their forefathers or even nuclear family members.
With that said . . . check out this site and see if you can find the meaning of your name. If not check out this site to see if you can decipher any hidden meaning yourself.

Basking in nature’s resplendence
I don’t know if it’s possible to explain how much time and work was involved in changing this blog. I had to learn a new programming language, create a new header because the template kept disallowing what I wanted to do and not being able to host all the images on this server because some were too large. I got so frustrated that I ended up having to scrap the entire thing and start from a brand new template. The worst thing, though, was spending an hour trying to figure something out, thinking I finally got it, and then finding out that I were wrong and I just screwed up something important that I didn’t know how to fix. I experienced this issue (ahem). . . let’s just say more than once!
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the new look,
Sincerely

Lovin' Spoonfull
These are the two choices that I've narrowed it down to. I have to make a decision by Wednesday which doesn't really leave much time. The following are the pros and cons of each jacket. Let me know what you think and I'll let you know which I decide upon.
The Blue one is 3 coats in one.
The Green one looks cooler.
Both are tear resistant.
Both are waterproof.
Both are rated to keep you warm in similar temperatures (except the layers in the blue one might allow a little more versatility)
Thus far I am torn between the two.
At the time of posting this I have . . .

- None for the blue (colours are as pictured above).

There ye go Cap'n. Let me know what ye think . . .
This is my submission for the Main Campus’ new Pirate Club logo. I tried to make this one look a little more old school than Brantford’s but think I managed to remain true to the spirit of the original logo. Especially because the logo is made out of pirated images I found on the internet. It's the exact size of a desktop screen on . . . ok I forget the resolution but it's big enough to use as a background. So use it, and let me know what you think!!
I found a cool website! That's Ka-Blamo!
Ok, many of you have already become acquainted with this site, but for those of you who haven't it's called 'The Lonely Island' and it is rather absurdly funny. Some of the skits include profanity which could be described as ‘unnecessary’. Be careful where and with whom you watch these with, but there is enough on the site that I’m sure you’ll find something funny.

Friends from afar
Original Post: 2:06am 01/09/06
I’ve been thinking lately about the nature of blogs. I often read the blogs of total strangers on opposite sides of the world, which means, there are probably people who I don’t know reading my blog. I therefore address the remainder of this post to my readers with whom I am unacquainted.Who are you? Where are you from? What brings you to my blog? Do you have a blog?
If you don’t want to answer any of these questions specifically, just say something. I just want to see if my hypothesis regarding my readership is correct.
Thanks.

Custom Desktop Wallpaper Series
I have decided to share my incredible creativity and artistic talents with the world. Available on this blog, for the first time, are original works of art which you can use, absolutely free of charge, as your desktop background. I’ve started with ‘Panda Bear’ as an original creation, but if you have anything you would like to see digitally rendered, please leave your suggestions in the form of picture titles in the comments section of this post. I’ll try to please everyone, but let’s not go crazy with suggestions here.

Everything is bigger in Texas
What do you do when a Texan pornographer says your girlfriend is ‘cute as shit’? Not a position most people find themselves in, but one that I have recently become entagle in. If you read Shabudabu’s post ‘Update For The New Year’ and then read her comments, some dude from Texas commented that he liked her blog and that she is 'cute as shit'. Fine, I’m inclined to agree, but then I clicked on his profile and visited his blogs. His ADULT blogs. Dude collects porn links and posts them on the net, prompting two questions . . .
I have no conclusive answers yet but it does my heart good to realize that the guy is in Texas and not likely to show up harassing anyone anytime soon.
1) How did he find Shabudabu’s blog?
and
2) Why is he posting on it?
and

Built for life in Brantford
Up until last night, I had not been to the Ford Plant in some time. However after talking with one of the owner operators on the bus the other day I was inspired to take Shabudabu to a show. It was an acoustic set and there were three bands playing. The first, ‘The Irrocci Family’ was a trio of young people who played songs like ‘Nights in White Satin’ and ‘California Dreaming’. The second artist, ‘Rich Worby’, was solo and he sang a number of original, interpretive dance inspiring, acoustic songs as well as a wonderful emoesk version of Haddaway’s ‘What is Love?’. The last artist was from a group called ‘Cuff The Duke’, however most of the band was trapped, due to van trouble, in Parry Sound. Whoever he was, he did a great job, and I was really impressed by his music. He was a skinny little guy who you’d never expect to sound like he did. The show next weekend is supposed to be a good one, and I think I may check it out. I may even become a regular . . . who knows!

Fun with faces
Just to make sure everyone is clear, that was fun with FACES not FECIES (Sorry Jamie). With that said, I implore you to check this site out, it’s pretty cool! You can just mess around and make profile pictures of you and all your friends, and then use them for various different purposes, like blog profile pictures! But beware! The tophat option is available ONLY on bald heads. Grrrrr.
