The life and times of a street walker.

Some of you may have noticed (although it would appear nobody’s been to my blog in the past couple of days) that the Photo Album link to the right, although functioning, links to no new pictures. That’s my bad. I updated my blog yesterday before I found I couldn’t get my pictures uploaded, then had to dash. Sorry if it caused anyone (seriously is anyone there?!?) any confusion. I got closer to actually finding words for what I was trying to write yesterday, but in the end they still managed to elude me. In their place I’ve decided to tell/show you some of the cool things I’ve seen the past couple of days wandering through random neighbourhoods while at work.

My first day at work we watched a heritage building burn to the ground. Coming from Brantford I was able to empathise with the locals but didn’t feel overly impressed.
The following week I watched a monarch butterfly feeding on a scotch thistle so I took a picture. Then I noticed on the next thistle there were two other monarchs getting it on. Luckily the paparazzi never sleep and I was able to capture their precious exchange on my camera phone!
Today I saw a robin hunting a butterfly. I’ve never seen a robin fly with such purpose before. We’ve all seen robins and we’ve all seen them fly, but when they’re hunting butterflies, that’s a whole different story! They dart all over the place cutting through the air in THE EXACT same flight pattern as their prey. I’ll be honest, this sight was pretty awesome.
(sorry, no picture available)

A little later in the day I was able to watch storm clouds roll in, and then saw them twist and separate before turning to rain and falling to the ground. The sounds of rolling thunder and bolts of lightening kind of makes you feel electric inside. Storms are always awe inspiring if you’re in the right mind set.

Not to worry, as a reader I wasn't overly dissapointed about the album.

What is with the random dog picture?

And finally, I love storms too, except when the sky goes black and I am all by myself in my apartment wondering if a tornado will be the end of me. When its your time, its your time...there isn't much you can do about it...but I am so curious about my future and if we have a future :)

I come by here all the time, but have found I have little to say to you other than "why won't you come visit" any more... It's been over a year...

Tawdry butterfly sex! Egad, what is the world coming to when people start publishing insect porn?! LOL

Good picture, MC.

Shabudabu - There are times when storms can worry me too. I remember a specific storm from when I was a kid that scared the bejesus out of me. More recently my fear has been almost entirely replaced with awe. With regard to your future, I hope there will always be a place for me in it, as I know that there will always be a place in mine for you, no matter what happens.

Sazzmo - I don’t think it’s quite been a year yet, but in any case this Pirate festival in Toronto should rekindle the plutonic sparks between us, and send us into fits of drunken revelry. In short, I’m really looking forward to it.

Utenzi - Dude, butterfly sex is HAWT! Thanks for posting.

The last time I saw you was right after you graduated... which occured in July of last summer...

Also email me about times you're free for the festival or in general, and then we can make sure that does happen...

Besides I've also got this pile of comics here...

Lenny and I have been remeniscing about those comics lately. How I long to see the entire collection again, perhaps bound in hard cover.

I visit almost daily, but hadn't notice updated links. I'll pay more attention next time. I usually just look to see if there are any new posts. If there aren't, I mosey on to the next blog on my list.

As for the monarchs... I wish I was getting it on in a field... minus you taking pictures of course... perv.

I didn't know you read my blog, or that you had a web presence of your own! Look for your link on my list in the near future!

And as for those pictures . . . that was a misunderstanding. I thought I was taking landscape shots, I didn't even see you guys until they were developed!

Yeah, I've been reading for quite a while now. I just have never posted comments until now. Yours is one of the blogs I check most often! I know it will always put a smile on my face. Keep up the posting!
